20 Tips & tricks Samsung Impression
Tip #1: Text Message Settings
Users may set the phone to keep copies of their text messages or automatically delete these after they are sent. Touch Menu > Messaging > Messaging Settings > Text Message > Delivery Options. Check or uncheck the box that says “Keep a Copy” and touch SAVE. The phone will hold 200 messages in the inbox, 200 in the sent box, 50 in the outbox, and 50 drafts.
Tip #2: Messaging Shortcut
Touch and hold the Envelope key on the bottom left of the slider QWERTY keyboard to go directly to text messaging.
Tip #3: Accessing the Virtual Keypad
When in a text input mode, the user simply rotates the phone to a vertical position and the virtual keypad will automatically appear.
Tip #4: Activating Flash
The Samsung Impression™ has a web browser that supports JavaScript and Flash. To activate these features, touch Menu > MEdia NET > Browser Settings > Preferences > Display Flash Contents. Touch the ON box under each of these options to activate, and touch Save.
Tip #5: Downloading Ringtones
Users can purchase ringtones, graphics, applications, and more from MEdia™ Mall using the browser. Touch Menu > MEdia™ Mall > Ringtones. Follow the onscreen options to purchase.
Tip #6: Using the Music Player in Conjunction with Other Functions
If a customer is using the music player and wants to do other work on the screen, he or she can choose the minimize option at the bottom of the display. This action minimizes the size of the player so the screen can be used for other functions while the music plays.
Tip #7: Contact Birthday Reminders
If users add birthdays to their contact list, the event manager will remind them of these days. When users are entering contact information, they can select the Add More Fields option at the bottom of the screen to assign a URL, a message tone, a nickname, a group, or a job title to that contact.
Tip #8: User Interface
Pressing the multitasking key on the upper left-hand side of the phone provides quick access to commonly used features at once, including call, messaging, MEdia™ Net, Music Player, and Apps & Games.
Tip #9: Calendar Shortcut
Press the back key in the Idle screen to quickly display the calendar in Month view.
Tip #10: Redialing Shortcut
Press and hold the Talk/Send key to redial the last phone number dialed.
Tip #11: Games & Apps Accelerometer
The Impression™ features a built-in accelerometer that can add unique functionality to many applications and the user interface, including the automatic orientation of the display screen from portrait to landscape mode depending on the position in which it is held. Check out the Tumbling Dice application that is included. Go to Menu > Games & Apps > Tumbling Dice and shake the phone to roll a great demonstration of this technology.
Tip #12: GPS with AMOLED Touchscreen
AT&T Navigator GPS takes full advantage of the Impression™’s clear, bright, and brilliant AMOLED touchscreen, providing a great view of GPS maps and directions.
Tip #13: Adding Emoticons
Press the one-touch Messaging key and then, after typing your message, touch abc to insert emoticons.
Tip #14: Mobile Entertainment
The Impression™ has a ton of entertainment options for music and TV, including live TV shows from more than 35 channels (MobiTV), and current and past music videos on demand (MobiVJ).
Tip #15: One-Button Camera Access
Once a photo is taken, your customer has the option to set the image as a caller image or to set the image as wallpaper – with one touch.
Tip #16: Personalizing Incoming Text Message Tones
Users can personalize incoming text message notification tones for specific contacts.
Select a contact, then touch Edit.
Touch Add More Fields.
Select Message Tone and press Done.
Touch Message Tone, choose preferred tone, and touch Select.
Touch SAVE.
Tip #17: How to Scroll through Contacts
Press the Volume key up or down to scroll through your contacts.
Tip #18: Receive an SMS or MMS Message from an Email
Anyone can easily send a Samsung Impression™ owner an SMS message via email. All the sender has to do is compose their email message and send it to the owner’s phonenumber@txt.att.net (for example, 2145551212@txt.att.net). The Impression™ receives the email as an SMS message.
The Impression™ can also receive MMS messages sent via email. Just have the sender email the SMS to the Impression™ owner’s phonenumber@mms.att.net (i.e. 123456789@mms.att.net).
Tip #19: Send a Message to an Email Address
Sending a message to an email address from the Samsung Impression™ is simple. Just type the email address in the To field.
Tip #20: Two-Touch Snapfish® Photo Uploading
Users can upload their newly-taken photos to HP’s Snapfish® with two touches by touching the Send icon, then to HP’s Snapfish. (NOTE: The user must first register the phone with their Snapfish® account.)
