The SGH-I617 features two different methods to reset the handset’s factory settings, thru the phone menus or using the handset buttons.

To reset the handset’s factory settings, via menus, follow the steps below:

While in standby mode, press the left soft key for Start

  1. Select Settings
  2. Select More (G) to display more settings
  3. Select Security (B)
  4. Select More (G) to display more security settings
  5. Select Reset (B) then press the left soft key for OK at the Alert prompt
  6. With Device highlighted, press the left soft key for Yes to confirm the Device Reset
To reset the handset’s factory settings, via buttons, follow the steps below:

When the handset is powered off, Press and Hold the up navigation button then power on the handset

  1. Press the 1 key at the format prompt then press the Y key at the erase all data prompt
