Tip #1: Toggling between Location Setting On and 911 Only
The Samsung Finesse™ has GPS capability that can be set to always on, so the phone is always tracked, or 911 only, which means the location feature is only activated in the case of an emergency call. The Finesse™ is set to always transmit your location by default, however, it is simple to configure it to transmit your location during 911 calls only. To turn the 911 Only location setting on, touch Settings > Location. Touch 911 Only and then OK.
Tip #2: Accessing the Shortcut Bar
Tap the top of the phone to show the Shortcut bar, then tap the desired Shortcut to open the corresponding function.
Tip #3: Making a Call
Tap the word Dialer on the bottom left-hand side of the screen to access a virtual keypad to make a call. Tap in the Phone number, then tap Voice Call or press the Send key to complete the call.
Tip #4: Zooming In and Out
In the camera mode, use the volume keys to zoom in or out. Note: The zoom function does not work when the phone is set to 2 megapixels.
Tip #5: Viewing and Dialing Contacts
To access the Contact Menu, touch Contacts on the lower Menu bar. Touch the actual contact name to show all of the saved numbers. Touch the phone icon next to the appropriate number to dial that number.
Tip #6: Scrolling through the Widget Bar
Only a selection of Widgets are visible on the phone screen. To review all available Widgets, scroll up or down the Widget bar.
Tip #7: Activating the Speakerphone
To activate the speakerphone while on a call, press the Lock key at the top of the phone or press the Back key. Then, touch Speaker On. The icon will turn from black to blue, indicating that the speakerphone has been activated.
Tip #8: Shortcut to Call Log
Press the SEND key or go to the Main Menu under calls to view a recent call log.
Tip #9: Using Widgets
Widgets are opened by dragging and tapping them, once on the screen.
Tip #10: Identifying Supported Bluetooth® Profiles
To view a list of supported Bluetooth® profiles and their descriptions, touch Menu > Tools > Bluetooth > BT Services.
Tip #11: Viewing a Video
To view a video, touch Menu > Multimedia > My Videos. Available videos will appear as thumbnails on the screen. Touch the one to be played. The video screen appears in the display and begins to play the selected piece. Touch Full screen to expand the image area.
NOTE: While supplies last, the first Finesse™ customers will receive a microSD™ card which includes the Mission Impossible Trilogy.
Tip #12: View Text Messages in Chat Format
Users can set up the phone to view one text message at a time or to view the entire “conversation.” Touch Messages > Msg Settings > Txt Message View. Select Chat in the View Mode to view the entire text message chain, instead of just the reply. Touch OK.
Tip #13: Adding a Quick Text Message
The phone has a number of prewritten text message templates, called Quick Text, which owners of the Samsung Finesse™ can use to sent a quick message with no typing – or create and store their own. To access, touch Messages > Message Settings > Quick Text.
