Tip #1: Scrolling through Onscreen Lists
Users can slide their finger up or down the screen to scroll through lists of menu items, or they can use the Volume key to scroll, as well.
Tip #2: Rearranging Widgets
To change the location of widgets on the Widget Bar, touch and hold the widget. While still holding it, drag it away from the Widget Bar and drop it on to the Main screen, and then drag it back to the desired location on the list. Users can also drag it away from the Widget Bar in a single motion and drop it back into the desired location with one move.
Tip #3: Using the Sketchpad
Artistic users can draw sketches on their phone. Touch Menu > Tools > Sketchpad > Draw. Use the touchscreen to draw a sketch. A fingernail or optional stylus works best with this feature. Touch to Save.
Tip #4: Choosing Web Viewing Formats
Users can change the way they view the web by checking or unchecking the Mobile View option. When Mobile View is unchecked, the web format changes to HTML, so the page looks more like it does on a computer screen. Touch Menu > Mobile Web > Options > Settings > Mobile View. Check or uncheck the box and touch Save.
Tip #5: Using One-finger Zoom
To zoom in or out while viewing an image or a web page, tap the image twice to zoom or tap the magnifying glass once. Slide fingers up or down the +/- bar on the side of the phone.
Tip #6: Accessing the FLO TV Program Guide
To access the FLO TV Program Guide, undock the TV Widget. On the Main screen, you will see a small box on the upper left-hand side. Touch this box to open the program guide. The guide can be accessed while watching a show by touching the top part of the phone to make the Guide icon visible.
Tip #7: Accessing the Virtual QWERTY Keyboard
When in the Create Message mode, tilt the phone horizontally to access the virtual QWERTY keyboard. Moving back to portrait mode brings up a virtual keypad.
Tip #8: Using the Power Search Tab
The Power Search tab lets users quickly thumb through the alphabetical listing of entries by first letter. Touch Contacts. Press and drag the Power Search tab on the left-hand side of the screen until the name of the desired contact appears. Release the Power Search tab and touch the name to open.
Tip #9: Buying Apps
Users can customize their phone by downloading apps. Touch Menu > App Center > Cool Tools/Apps. Touch the app once to read about it, touch it twice to purchase and download.
Tip #10: Identifying a Song with MusicID 2
The Samsung Mythic can identify songs by “listening” to just a few bars. Touch Menu > AT&T Music > MusicID 2 > Identify Song. Place the phone near the source of the song. When a match is found, the screen displays the artist name and track title, and if available, lyrics and album art.
Tip #11: Starting Video Share During an Existing Call
To begin Video Share during an existing call, touch the Video Share icon, or touch More > Video Share > Live.
Tip #12: Using the Headset Jack
Although the Samsung Mythic supports Bluetooth stereo headsets, users also have the option of using their wired headsets in the headphone jack, which is located at the top of the phone.
Tip #13: Activating the Motion Detection Feature
The Motion Detection feature can be used for muting an incoming call, setting Snooze on an alarm, or starting and restarting a timer by simply turning the phone over. Go to Menu > Settings > Phone > Motion Detection > On.
Tip #14: How to Lock the Phone
To lock the phone, simply press and hold the Lock key on the top right side of the phone.
