To format a microSD memory card follow the steps below:

Lay the handset down on then lift the battery cover from the top end of the handset (1) and remove it, as shown below

Gently insert a microSD memory card, gold contacts up, into the memory card slot, until it clicks, as shown below
Caution: DO NOT force the card into the memory card slot, as this could damage the card and/or the handset

Replace the battery cover (1) then gently press down until it snaps into place (2), as shown below

From the standby screen, press OK for Menu
Highlight Settings & Tools (9)
Select Memory (8)
Select Card Memory (3)
Press the right soft key for Options
Select Format Card (1)
Highlight Yes, using the navigation keys
Press OK to confirm formatting the microSD memory card
